On the roadmap

Unreal Engine

An Unreal plugin — C++ API plus Blueprint nodes — is on the roadmap. Metaverse spaces, virtual production with a live host, and squad voice in shipped games are what it is for.

What works today#

Pixel Streaming projects already run in a browser, where theWeb SDK can carry voice and camera alongside the streamed frame — no plugin needed.

Mobile targets can bridge the Android andiOS SDKs through a native module, the same route used for store and analytics SDKs, until the plugin ships.

Live output: a running Unreal scene can be pushed to an AppLooma channel as an RTMP source with the ingestfeature — viewers watch on any SDK, with chat and gifting.

What the SDK will look like#

Every AppLooma SDK has the same shape — create an engine with your App ID, join a channel with a token from your server, render the people who arrive. The Unreal Engine SDK will too, so code you write against the preview below will not need rethinking.

VoiceComponent.cpp (preview — API subject to change)
#include "AppLoomaEngine.h"
void UVoiceComponent::BeginPlay()
{
Super::BeginPlay();
Engine = UAppLoomaEngine::Create(TEXT("YOUR_APP_ID"));
Engine->OnTrackSubscribed.AddDynamic(this, &UVoiceComponent::HandleTrack);
// Token from your backend; never mint it in the client.
Engine->JoinChannel(Token, WsUrl, FAppJoinOptions{ EAppRole::Host, /*bCamera*/ false, /*bMicrophone*/ true });
}
void UVoiceComponent::HandleTrack(const FAppRemoteUser& User)
{
// Remote video as a UTexture2D — drop it on a material or a UMG Image.
RemoteMaterial->SetTextureParameterValue(TEXT("Video"), User.VideoTexture);
}
// Blueprint: Create AppLooma Engine → Join Channel → On Track Subscribed

The plan#

  • Plugin. A code plugin for UE 5.3+ with a C++ module and a Blueprint function library; Windows, macOS, Android and iOS targets.
  • Blueprint parity. Every engine call and event as a node, so a designer can wire voice without C++.
  • Textures and audio. Remote video as UTexture2D, voice on the engine’s echo-cancelled path with per-user volume for proximity chat.
  • Marketplace. Fab listing once the API settles; git install before that.

Early access#

Tell us what you are building

Order on the roadmap follows demand. Write to support@applooma.dev with the engine version you target and roughly how many users — you get the first build, and a say in the API.
